The course will focus specifically on throwing, turning and glazing. It is suitable for complete beginners and those potters that want to get back to basics with the pottery wheel.
The first four weeks will be geared towards practise and improvement. As such, students will only be able to keep eight finished pieces from this course. All other work will be recycled for re-use.
The last session of the course will be solely on glazing your work and once fired, they will be ready to collect from the studio at a later date.
At the end of each session everybody will play their part in cleaning and tidying up.
Note about hands: It is possible to throw with long nails but not advisable. Please trim your nails to prevent them catching in the clay and causing possible injury. Likewise, jewellery can also get in the way and will almost certainly get covered in clay, so best to leave it at home.
There will be a maximum of four students on the course. In the event of there not being enough participants, the course will be cancelled and all monies refunded.
